Build your contractor safety file with AI
In South Africa, every contractor and sub-contractor needs a health and safety file before work starts: under the Construction Regulations 2014 on construction sites, and under the client's contractor requirements on mines (Mine Health and Safety Act) and in plants and factories (Occupational Health and Safety Act).
Each client has its own index, and each project needs its own file. SafetyFileBuilder lets you start a project, upload the client's index and your documents, and an AI leads you through the file heading by heading until it is ready to hand in.
What clients usually ask for
- Letter of good standing (COIDA) and company registration
- Health and safety policy, signed by the CEO
- Appointments (e.g. section 16.2, construction manager, supervisors, safety officer)
- Scope of work, risk assessments and method statements (and a fall protection plan where needed)
- Medical fitness certificates, inductions and competency certificates for every person
- Equipment registers with inspection and test certificates
- Organogram, emergency plan, PPE issue and toolbox talk records
Every client is different: the AI works from your client's own list.

Your responsibility
SafetyFileBuilder helps you compile and keep your documents. It does not give legal or safety advice: check the requirements that apply where you work, and a competent person checks and signs what the AI drafts.
